“I wish I had a recording of how excited the clinic teams were when they described their experience with OneStep — they were thrilled by its ease of use."
Rachel Shiloh Yesharim, Chief Technology Officer, AposHealth
AposHealth helps people with knee, hip and lower back pain move better with the Apos® device — a personally calibrated, foot-worn system that shifts load away from painful areas and retrains the way they walk. Every device is adjusted to the patient's gait, so gait analysis isn't an add-on to the treatment. It is the treatment's starting point, and its follow-up.
To calibrate a device correctly, and to show that it was calibrated correctly, a clinician needs an objective gait measurement at the fitting and again as the patient adjusts. Traditional gait labs need special equipment, dedicated space and training, and they don't travel home with the patient. As AposHealth grew to more clinics and more patients worldwide, it needed a gait measurement that every clinician could run at every installation — affordable, quick to learn, and consistent enough to document.
OneStep turned a smartphone into the gait lab. A patient walks with the phone and the clinician has an objective, clinical-grade gait analysis within minutes — no special equipment, no dedicated room, nothing to calibrate. The same measurement works in the clinic at the fitting and at home afterwards, so AposHealth can follow how a patient walks in daily life, not only on the day of the visit. Every measurement is stored and comparable over time, giving each adjustment a documented, objective basis.
“OneStep is a novel mobile-based technology that provides an easy and accessible gait solution that is cost-effective and was found valid and accurate according to our research findings. For many clinics, this could be a game changer in terms of incorporating objective gait assessment in clinical settings.”
Ganit Segal, Chief Clinical Officer, AposHealth
Clinicians took to it quickly. Within three months of rollout, OneStep was being used at 100% of Apos installations, and it now supports thousands of fittings every month across AposHealth's clinics. Every installation has an objective gait measurement behind it, recorded the same way in every clinic — a complete, consistent record of how each device was fitted and how each patient responded.
When the measurement is this easy, it simply becomes part of every fitting.
